The Home and School Association only exists through the selfless acts of parents in our school and solely to support our students.

Please consider volunteering for a position for the 2024-2025 school year. It has been our goal to make each position easily transferable from year to year. Non-officer positions will have multiple slots to sign up and officers will always remain available to help.

To get more information about each position, please click 2024-2025 Open HSA Positions and sign up on our website.

As always, please check that you have your clearances on file.

Track Meet Concessions

The boys' track meet on Monday was a great event! It was wonderful to see all the middle school students who were competing and all of the other students there in support.

The HSA will be selling concessions for the girls' meet on April 25th and the boys' meet on May 6th and can use some help. To sign up to sell items, please click Spring Concessions. High School students are eligible for volunteer hours.

Please have your clearances up to date.

Save the Date: 8th Grade Dance

The 8th-grade dance is a celebration of the student's time at SHMS with an evening of music, dancing, games, pictures, food, and friends. It is chaperoned by our amazing SHMS teachers.

Come on your own, come with a friend, come with a group of friends, come with a date! Dress up or Dress down!  This is a fun celebration!

Tickets will be sold during 8th grade lunch (10:20 - 10:55am) starting 2 weeks prior to the dance (dates TBD). Cost: $25 cash or check (made payable to SHMS). We want all students to be able to come!

** If you need any financial assistance for ticket purchase, please contact 8th-grade guidance counselor, Mrs. Bertoni.**

Further details to follow, but save the date!

SHMS HSA Book Fair

Each year the Home and School Association puts on a Spring Book Fair for the students through Scholastic.  It is a great opportunity for our middle school students to select their favorite reads. This year the sale will take place the week of May 13th.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help out with this fun event. If you would like to help out with your student's class, sign up here: Book Fair Sign Up Genius.

Please note, that these kits are only for 5th graders who will be entering middle school next year.

Autism Awareness

April is Autism Awareness Month. Why is public awareness important?

Public awareness helps to clear up stereotypes and misunderstandings and serves as a form of emotional support for parents and caregivers, allowing families to get the early interventions that they need.

To learn more about Autism visit the National Autism Association.
