Meet Our New Co-Chair

Hi, I'm Tayler Moots and I look forward to being part of HSA next year. My daughter will be an 8th grader and has mixed feelings about her brother joining her as a 6th grader at SHMS. When I am not driving them around, I'm a full-time realtor, Board member of Haven Youth Wrestling and volunteer at CASA Youth Advocates. At SRS, I was on the Home & School Service Committee and I was the person calling you to purchase an ad for the school directory. I'm excited to support our students and teachers through HSA.

6th Grade
HOOTBAM

On June 6th, the 6th grade teams participated in HOOTBAM.

HOOTBAM stands for Haven Odessey Of The Body And Mind. The events consisted of a morning filled with field events (track, swimming, fencing, tennis, frisbee, ladder golf, and baggo) and an afternoon of team building and brain games (quizzo, name that tune, puzzle competitions, etc).

We appreciate your support and assistance for this fun event for our 7th graders on the final day of school.

8th Grade
Hershey Park Trip

On June 10th the 8th Grade class will go on a field trip to Hershey Park.  Please be on the look out for more information.

8th Grade Bridge Crossing and Award Ceremony

On the last day of school, parents of 8th-grade students are welcome to line up from the front of the middle school and over the bridge, to the front of the high school. This long-standing tradition honors our students as they take their symbolic walk to their next destination, leaving the middle school behind. All are welcome to stand by and watch them process to the High School.

Immediately following, the 8th-grade awards ceremony will take place in the high school auditorium.  This event is by invitation only.

Please stay tuned for additional information about both activities.

Rising 6th Grade
RISING 6th Grade School Kits

Do you have or know a rising 6th grader? Order your teacher-approved kit today. These kits are optional and families are welcome to buy their own school supplies. The kits will be available for pickup in August starting at the Morning at the Middle School event.

Please note, that these kits are only for 5th graders who will be entering the middle school next year. School Supply lists for rising 7th and 8th graders will be on the school website.

All Grades
Basketball Camp

Still looking for a summer program for your student?  There are still spaces in the Basketball Camp here at SHMS.  This event is organized by our very own 7th grade teacher, Mr. Lucas.  Sign up today!
