Save the Date for the 5th Annual Bowling Night on Saturday, October 24th at Sproul Lanes. Scan the QR code for ticket purchasing information. This is open to all grades and raises funds for the 8th grade service project. Students can also buy tickets for a chance to win a raffle basket at the event. Proceeds go to the service project. Band Night - Mandatory Rehearsal WEDNESDAY 2:30-3pm

Please note that if your student is not attending Band Night, they do not need to attend this rehearsal

• We will meet on the recess blacktop with our instruments and music. Please make sure your student's music is on cardboard or some other sturdy material by Wednesday so they are successful.

• Click this link to see the activity bus lists and routes. Please review these with your student so they know what bus to get on!

• Snare Drum kits, tubas and euphoniums should be brought in from home by this day. They will be stored on stage for the week, and brought back home after the performance on Friday night.

Band Night Shirts - $ IS DUE ASAP

I am receiving our shirt order on Tuesday and will be handing out shirts on Thursday during lunches. If I do not have your student's payment, they will not receive a shirt. Please send in $10 (cash or check written to SHMS) ASAP.

For those that have participated in Band Night in previous years, the shirt has NOT CHANGED. You may use it if you have it!

Band Night - Friday, September 25^th at 6:30pm

District policy states that if your student is attending the game after the performance, they are required to have an adult with them for safety purposes. Please be mindful of this when planning the rest of your evening.

Rita's Fundraiser - Monday, 9/28 from 6-9pm

We have teamed up with Rita's in Media for department-wide fundraiser. All proceeds will be used to offset field trip costs throughout the year. For this fundraiser in particular, the more money spent, the more money earned (ie: <$1000 spent, we get 20%!)

Please feel free to post this flyer in your offices, social media outlets, etc. Can't wait to see you there!

Jazz Band Interest Meeting - Tuesday, 9/29

If your student would like to hear more about our jazz band offerings, the interest meeting will be on Tuesday, 9/29 from 2:30-3pm in the band room. Mr. McLaughlin and I are hoping for a big turnout!

Please join us on Thursday, October 15th at 7 pm in the middle school library for our next Home and School Meeting.  ALL are welcome to attend!  Dr. Matsanka will be there to give school updates and answer any questions and we will also hear updates from our grade reps and committee chairs. Expect meetings on the third Thursday of each month.

In order to volunteer for events and activities at SHMS (concessions, musical, dances, book fair, etc...), ALL volunteers need their clearances on file with the school district. Please submit these now, as opportunities come up quickly and it's good to have them in place now. If you are unsure of your status, please contact Heather Fili at hfili@wssd.org
