SUBJECT: SHMS June 13 HSA Newsletter

June 13, 2025
Have A Great Summer!

As our final newsletter for the school year, we want to wish everyone a happy and safe summer! Thank you to everyone who helped volunteer this year to make our events and activities run smoothly. Without you, we are not able to do what we do. We are happy to announce Tayler Moots will be joining the HSA Exec Board, along with Kristine Magargee to serve as Co-Chairs for 2025-2026. We look forward to another great year!

Music Dept. Swim Outing

Despite the cooler temperatures and a last minute switch to the Knowlton Swim Club, the Music Department took all of the students in the music programs out for a day to enjoy at the pool. A good time was had by all, albeit a little chilly and wet. Special thanks to Lauren Shank for the pictures. More can be seen on the WSMA FB Page.

Eagle Scout Project - Playgroud Project

At the March HSA Meeting, the HSA approved funding to support Patrick Barth in completing his Eagle Scout Project for Troop 277. Patrick presented his plan to help the HSA by installing new benches and a storage box for recess supplies. These benches will allow more seating during recess, so students don't have to sit on the ground. This past weekend, they were installed and look great! A huge thank you to Patrick and Troop 277 for all their hard work and contributing these benches to the middle school.

8th Grade Bridge Crossing

Congratulations to our 8th Graders who crossed the bridge to Strath Haven High School last Thursday! This ceremonial walk across the bridge welcomes them to the High School as incoming freshmen. More pictures and video on Facebook.

Christie, Drane and Forwood Orthodontics and the HSA also gifted shirts as a parting gift to the 8th grade class. We hope your students will enjoy wearing them to show their Haven spirit! Best Wishes to the Class of 2029!

7th Grade Yearbook Signing & Treats

The HSA provided Rosati's Water Ice and soft pretzels to all 7th graders on the last day of school to enjoy while getting their yearbooks signed. Thank you to all of our volunteers for enduring the heat and helping out!
