Hope everyone had a happy Halloween despite the rainy weather. This school year is really flying by. Don’t forget that this weekend, November 6, daylight saving time ends and you will need to turn your clocks back 1 hour – fall back. That means that you’ll get an extra hour of sleep!
Also, as a reminder, November 8 is a district wide in-service day so keep the kids home. During the in-service day the HSA will set up their monthly Teacher/Staff Appreciation Coffee. The Teacher/Staff appreciation falls during National School Psychology week, November 7 – 11. We are looking for a few volunteers to bring in some baked goods, treats, snacks and coffee for our teachers and staff. If you would like to help out, please check out the Signup Genius. All items will need to be delivered by 7:00 on November 8 at the middle school office.
The end of the marking period is November 11. Please have your child check PowerSchool to make sure they have all their assignments turned in.
November also means that is it time for the 11th annual Panther Pajama Run held at 9am on the 12th. This fundraiser supports the Foundation’s efforts to pay for special projects and teaching tools between the 3 elementary school, the middle school and the high school in the Wallingford Swarthmore school district. If you would like to read more about the Foundation click here. Also, don’t forget to register to run.
The beloved Volleyball night is back and quickly approaching. Have you registered a team yet? Please contact Mr. Mossor at rmossor@wssd.org. You will need anywhere between 6-10 people on your team. One member can be an adult and must be a teacher or staff from the middle school. There will be snacks and drinks to purchase during the event. All proceeds from the concession stand will help the 8th grade class raise money for their service project, The Kisses for Kyle Foundation. We still need a few more snack donations. Please check out the signup genius on what is still needed.
November is here and so is the crisp fall weather! The HSA will also be selling spirit wear at both the Panther Pajama Run and Volleyball night. Be sure to pass by our spirit wear table for some items to keep you and your whole family warm. We will have Strath Haven hoodies, joggers, and long-sleeve shirts. Don’t wait to wait? Check out our online store available on our website.
Don't forget that our last Home and School meeting for the calendar year will be November 17 at 7pm. Join in to get an update from Dr. Matsanka, updates from our grade reps and much more.
